For nearly 17 years, I have had the privilege of co-owning Small Planet Energy Inc.. Founded in Campbell River in 2009, Small Planet Energy has grown to become Vancouver Island's longest-standing solar energy company, designing and installing residential, commercial, and off-grid renewable energy systems across Vancouver Island and the surrounding coastal communities.

As Co-Owner and Vice President, I oversee customer relations, solar design, project coordination, marketing, and business development. My greatest passion is helping people understand renewable energy in a way that is approachable, practical, and empowering. I believe that informed decisions create confident customers, and I love turning complex technical information into conversations that anyone can understand.

Equally important to me is giving back to the community that has supported our family for seven generations. I founded Caremongering Campbell River, a volunteer organization that has helped thousands of local residents through acts of kindness, practical support, and community fundraising. I also organize the annual Small Planet Cleanup Contest, which has grown into one of Vancouver Island's largest environmental cleanup initiatives, engaging thousands of participants and removing tens of thousands of kilograms of litter from our beaches, parks, and neighbourhoods.

I believe that successful businesses have a responsibility to strengthen the communities they serve. Whether I'm helping a family reduce their electricity bills, speaking to community groups about renewable energy, mentoring local professionals, or organizing volunteers, my goal remains the same: to leave people, places, and our planet a little better than I found them. I'm excited to be part of the Comox Valley Women's Business Network and look forward to building meaningful relationships, supporting fellow women in business, and learning from the incredible entrepreneurs who make up this community.
