Kathi is a therapist, author, and performance coach with a wide variety of professional interests and specializations. From addressing chronic pain from a trauma perspective to integrating exercise prescription for mental health, she takes a nervous system approach to therapy. Her passions relate to supporting women through a lifelong love affair with movement, addressing the psychology of eating behaviours and food stigmas, and working with women approaching mid-life and beyond as they navigate the stigma of aging that keeps us from creating a life that speaks to their wisdom and power.

Originating from Victoria, Kathi worked as an exercise specialist and educator with the YM-YWCA of Greater Victoria and the University of Victoria. Her degrees include an undergraduate degree in kinesiology, a master’s degree in exercise and sport psychology, and a master’s degree in clinical counselling.

After moving to the Comox Valley 20 years ago, Kathi began working as the Health Promotion Educator for 19 Wing Comox for over 11 years, changing careers at 50.

She is currently a therapist in private practice, professional speaker and facilitator, and author. She is a trauma therapist working with paramilitary personnel, health care professionals, and others who struggle with post-traumatic stress.

Kathi published her first book in 2025, Exercise [Your Way] to Better Mental Health: Exploring the Relationship Between Fitness Culture, Neuroscience, Exercise, and Mood, addressing the ins and outs of exercise as a mental health tool while navigating the culture, neuroscience, and psychology of exercise.

Her current writing project examines the considerations of aging well, addressing the harmful effects of age stigma and how women can live their best lives after 50.
