For more than 25 years, I've been creating portraits that people actually love seeing themselves in. I believe every person is beautiful as they are, even when they can't see it themself, and I take great care, from the first shot to the final retouch, to help them see it too.

I built my career while raising my family overseas, and spent three decades living in Jakarta, Dubai, Oman and Bahrain. Photographing people across so many cultures taught me how to put anyone at ease, whether it's a CEO who dreads the camera or a toddler who won't sit still.

When COVID brought me home to the Comox Valley, I brought that experience with me and started VI Portraits. Today I offer headshots and personal branding for professionals and entrepreneurs, family and individual portraits, and weddings. I also run VI Portraits Black & White, a luxury attended portrait station that brings timeless black-and-white portraits to events and celebrations.

Many of my clients arrive saying, "I hate having my photo taken." I understand completely, because I'm the same way! That's why I keep every session relaxed, personal and unhurried. Most people leave surprised by how much they enjoyed it, and by how much they like what they see.
