May 2023-In the Loop with CVWBN - Mocktails, Cheese and Chocolate, Oh My. . .

We have a full evening of activity planned for May!

Our event will feature the exciting updates and opportunities presented at our CVWBN Annual General Meeting 2023. We've also planned a chance to relax and explore our creative sides with a Zentangle art experience while sharing mocktails, cheese, and chocolate (along with our regular snack buffet).

Don't have time to read it all now but are curious about something in particular?

President's Message

Wow, has this WBN year gone fast!!

Here we are at the end of April and the May meeting will be our AGM. We promise to keep the business stuff light while we also have our Board of Director Elections!!

There is still time to add your name to the Nominee List and we are excited to see who will be our New Board Members! I would like to take this moment to say a huge THANK YOU to the board members for this past WBN year! Your hard work and dedication has helped this year run smoothly and I am sure I speak for all the members that it has been very much appreciated!!

To make sure we have a little bit of fun at the AGM we do have a creative program planned with Nancy Dawes who will be sharing with us the art of Zentangle!

Remember the DEADLINE of April 29th for your Minerva Nominations as well to apply for the WBN Bursary. See you at the May Meeting!

-Bobbie Norton

Zentangle with Nancy Dawes of I Teach Tangling

What is Zentangle? It's an abstract drawing created using repetitive patterns. The process increases focus and creativity. It provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being.

Nancy Dawes

Instructor for Zentangle drawing, eco-printing, Celtic Knot drawing, book making, and mixed media classes.

As a long-time crafter, bookmaker, artist, CZT and instructor, I enjoy designing classes to help you along your art journey. My classes in Courtenay, on Zoom, and around

North America (RMZR, Tangle Island and TangleU) include Zentangle drawing, eco-

printing, book making, Celtic Knot drawing, and various mixed media techniques.

Come and try your hand at this wonderfully fulfilling, relaxing and delightfully fun art experience.
