Gingerbread House

Habitat's Gingerbread House entry in the Crown Isle Resort Walk - sponsored by Andrea Davis & Mike Fisher of Royal LePage in the Comox Valley.

Each membership year the CVWBN choose one local charity to support through it's 'B.O.O.S.T.' program and for the 2017/18 membership year, they have selected Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North (VIN).

At the CVWBN Meeting on Wednesday, December 13th, CVWBN members showed their love and support of our community by 'Passing the Hat for Habitat' and raising $275. They also had centerpieces to sell and collected another $130 on that initiative.

The Christmas Party Committee had also hired a ukelele ensemble called 'Time for Uke' to provide some festive entertainment. (They did not disappoint!)  When the band learned that we were raising money for Habitat that night, they donated their $200 fee!

In one night, the women of the CVWBN raised $605. This donation will be matched by Mindset Wealth, which has committed to match all donations to Habitat VIN up to Dec. 31, 2017, making this effort worth $1,210 to this local non-profit. (And this does not include any money that members have spent buying raffle tickets over the past several months!)

Be aware that CVWBN members have committed to a full year of fundraising for Habitat and they are taking that commitment to heart. Here are some other creative ways that these local businesswomen are supporting this year's chosen charity:

Special thanks to our Christmas Party Committee:
