Roundtable Talks

At the January meeting, we will have the second of three 'roundtable discussions', where members will have ten to fifteen minutes to talk with their tablemates about topics of interest to today's businesswomen. We look forward to some lively, inspirational, and thought-provoking conversations!

This month's topic: Innovation and Tough Economics

What is the role that innovation could play when companies are facing the toughest challenges in the last century? When capital expenditure is under tight control and staying alive is the goal for many businesses, how do you not only think about innovation but also invest in new ideas and making them happen in your business.

  • Do you make small changes in your business based on the situation in the market and just maintain the status quo?
  • Is putting innovation at the heart of your business as important now as it once was, and can you make the business case for continuing to invest in it?
  • What types of innovation are available to your business?
  • Most importantly, how can you incorporate new innovation that the values you have, and how are you going to hold onto that?
  • Is your company so conservative that you would never do something out of the ordinary?
