Tracey McGinnis and her husband John own Blinds and Bubbles Boutique in Comox.  It is an authorized Hunter Douglas Gallery retail location that sells window coverings, custom draperies, ultrasonic blind cleaning and blind repairs.  Tracey started in this industry by doing the books at her parents 12 window covering locations in Ontario while still in high school and then worked her way through the company.  She loves helping clients create a beautiful and yet functional look for their home and showing them the new innovations and technology. Blinds & Bubbles was awarded the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce 2016 Small Business of the Year award and have recently been nominated for a Vancouver Island Business Award.  “We feel very blessed to be able to do what we do in a place we love so much,” says Tracey.

Theresa Brulotte

Theresa Brulotte, Balanced Being Massage, Energy Therapy & Coaching, was inspired to do Massage, Energy Therapies and Emotional Wellness for others because of her journey with pain and sadness. Her own healing helped her realize that everyone has options to break free from the cycle of illness or disease. The name of her practice, Balanced Being, arose from the realization that being able to bounce back from life’s challenges is essential for health. Theresa holistically guides individuals in finding their way again to their center, their balanced way of being.

Being outdoors and helping others with wellness continues to inspire and nurture her. She has been practicing since 2005. Theresa also contracts as a wellness coach at Fresh Start Health Resort. Before this, she worked in nutritional services at St. Joseph’s but found it unfulfilling. Listening to her body helped her find her way to the practice she does now, assisting others in listening to their bodies.

Theresa currently volunteers for Comox Valley Hospice, palliative care. She has volunteered for Rainbows, a support group for children struggling with grief and loss. As well as doing her vision quest, she has supported others in theirs. www.balancedbeing.ca
