Craft Faire

Congratulations to CVWBN Member Janet Campbell for staging another highly successful Charles Dickens Craft Faire at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay Nov. 10 through 12th.

This was the 23rd year that Janet and her family have provided a venue for a juried group of artisans to showcase their products to the community, providing a unique shopping experience that North Islanders look forward to with great anticipation. The event experienced record attendance numbers.

In addition to supporting the artistic community, the Charles Dickens Craft Faire provides free display space for two local charities each year. Y.A.N.A. Comox Valley (You are Not Alone) volunteers were there selling their ever popular Christmas crackers and Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North was selling raffle tickets.

"We were so grateful to have been invited to participate in this year’s Charles Dickens Faire for the second consecutive year," says Habitat's Community Engagement Manager, Terri Perrin. "The event provided a fabulous opportunity for us to answer people’s questions about our upcoming Lake Trail housing project and volunteering at the ReStore. We were thrilled to have raised almost $3,700 through the sale of Westjet and SHE Shed raffle tickets, cash donations, and a small silent auction. Thank you to the event organizers and the public for this amazing support!"

Hats off to the Campbell Family and the Charles Dickens Craft Faire for such great community spirit! Well done! We look forward to your 24th annual faire in 2018!
